In these times of grief
I still believe in who we are and what we do
In these times of grief
I still believe
You and I will come shining through.
[ch]
We’ll come shining through.
We’ll come shining through.
This much I know is true.
We’ll come shining through.
We’ll come shining through.
You and I will come shining through.
Though we’re burdened down
We’ll carry on in who we are and what we do
Though we’re burdened down
We’ll carry on.
You and I will come shining through.
Though we’re now apart
Love’s still the heart of who we are and what we do.
Though we’re now apart
Love’s still the heart
You and I will come shining through.

Nov. 9th, 2016. The unthinkable has happened. Now what?
My daughter called me at 6:00 in the morning today. “Dad, what are we gonna do?” Good question. We’re gonna be sad, but we’re going to keep working together to make this world, this country, this state, our neighborhoods better places for all of us to live. And listen to each other’s ideas. What do you think?
Spring / Summer 2020. And now the unthinkable has happened again. And again, “What are we gonna do?” Same answer: I still believe we’ll come shining through.
